Ryan and I caught up for another Q&A session this morning.

With the volatility returning to the crypto markets (thanks to China, again) and markets more broadly, we kick things off with a discussion around the state of the global economy and moves in the US dollar.

Everything is connected. It’s early days, but it appears as though markets are starting to price in a slowdown in the global economy in the second half of the year.

We know what this will lead to…more idiotic stimulus to keep the system afloat. Which will eventually feed into crypto markets.

That’s something to watch for on the horizon though. For now, crypto markets are surrounded by pessimism. Any story is construed as bearish, in the same way that any story was bullish just a few months ago.

While it’s easy to say and much harder to act on, these are the best times to get a thorough understanding of this new-money world. Over time, our strategy of dollar-cost averaging should allow you to take advantage of the volatility.

Building a position in a bear market is tough. Not everyone can do it. But if you have patience (and belief based on sound analysis), then it will stand you in good stead down the track.
