The lightning network is a protocol or set of rules, that sits on top of the Bitcoin blockchain. The intention of the Lightning Network is to provide a way to facilitate micro-transactions using Bitcoin. The concept was originally introduced in 2015 and undergoes continuous development for improvements.
If you're watching this video, there is a pretty good chance you love Bitcoin. But just like with all loves, there are certain things that can be improved. When we look at Bitcoin, it's nearly a perfect system. If there is one thing that can be improved it's the transaction speed.
The Visa Network processes on average 5,000 transactions per second with the ability to scale upward to reach around 65,000 TPS. Bitcoin, on the other hand, can only handle about 7 transactions per second with the current block size.
Obviously, there is a large discrepancy between Visa and Bitcoin, so in this video I'm gonna show one solution that's going to change the way we all use Bitcoin and exchange value in the future.
So Stick with Me, cause I'm gonna explain in simple terms how the Bitcoin Lightning Network works, and then I'm going to show you how it works with a live demo.
