Velas Wallet - Seed Phrase Recovery - Tutorial

Hello everyone, Taui here with team Velas, and today we’re going to be doing a quick overview on how to recover your Velas web wallet with your recovery seed phrase.


Section 1️⃣ (New wallet creation steps)
Since our migration from pre-alpha to alpha the new Velas web wallet has been upgraded and optimized to store multiple currencies, coin stakes, and much more. In this quick video we’re going to show you how to create and restore your velas web wallet using your seed phrase, so let’s get started.

For this example we will first create a new velas web wallet, to do so you will need to go to wallet.velas.com or go to www.velas.com and click on the “Wallet” tab at the top of the page and then click “Web Wallet”

So again, we will be creating a wallet, deleting it, then recovering it from our seed phrase.

First, click your preferred language, we will be using English for this example.

Then you must create your pin, so you can log into your wallet once created.

After that you will be presented with your new Seed Phrase, you must make sure you save this somewhere safe and secure. We supply a printable recovery seed phrase sheet to help you keep your seed phrase safe.

After you have saved your seed phrase you will then be prompted to enter your phrase in a random order, this makes restoring your wallet more secure.

Once you have entered your new phrase you will be prompted to accept our Term of Use.

You should now be in your new wallet.


Section 2️⃣ (New wallet recovery steps)
Now we are going to delete our wallet and restore it with our new seed phrase.

To restore your wallet first click on the “Restore” button.

You will then be asked if you want to restore with your 12-seed or 24-seed phrase. If you already had a wallet from the pre-alpha stage then you can restore with your 12-seed phrase. But for this example, we are restoring with the new 24-seed phrase.

Again, you will be prompt to restore your wallet using your seed phrase in a random order for more security.

Now that you're done, your wallet should now be restored.

And there you have it, you can now restore your velas web wallet using your seed phrase.
