Andrew Yang was seen during his 2020 presidential campaign as the first political champion of bitcoin and blockchain technology. He advocated for a uniform set of national regulations surrounding crypto that seeks to guide investors rather than the current hodgepodge of conflicting laws and mixed signals across states.
Yang also advocated for the use of blockchain technology for mobile voting, something he argued was just as safe if not safer than the standard voting machines in use today.
In his campaign for Mayor of New York City, Yang has promised to turn the city into a hub of free trade for crypto that seeks to set national standards surrounding crypto regulation. He hopes to revitalize the energy of NYC through trailblazing investments in emerging technologies such as blockchain and artifical intelligence.
