Good afternoon everybody. It is the end of March of 2021 in Indianapolis, Indiana. This is David Gilreath of Sheaff Brock Investment Advisors. Remember Sheaff Brock is a firm that provides innovative portfolios for intelligent investors like you.

So today we're going to talk about blockchain, Bitcoin, NFTs. And a first though, however, we have to start with the building block of the entire thing, which is blockchain.

A blockchain is basically just a database, it's a record keeping database. And it's no different than any other database, except it's more secure. We use a database here at Sheaff Brock to keep track of client information. So if your email address changes, one of us at the firm can change that in the system, and everybody can share that information.

The difference with this is that each time information is put in it's grouped together, or blocked into a block, and the information that's in the block is timestamped and it can't be changed. And then if new information is added or changed a new block gets created, and everybody approves it, everybody agrees that it's correct, it's added to the previous block and it creates this chain....
