Price of Bitcoin plunges overnight

Sky News business reporter Edward Boyd says the price of Bitcoin plunged around 17 per cent overnight following some huge recent price gains.

Mr Boyd said despite the recent drop, the price of one Bitcoin still currently sits at $62,000 AUD.

"This is quite an interesting story amongst some investment circles," he said.

"We know it's a very volatile currency but it's been making huge ground this year in price gains".
