The team over at SafePal sent me a S1 wallet to get my thoughts on. This was not a paid or sponsored review in any way, they simply offered to send one my way for review.
Unfortunately my initial unboxing didn't go as smoothly as I would have hoped on the live-stream, and I was unable to pair the wallet due to a timezone issue. After the stream I got in touch with the SafePal team and they were super responsive and quick to get back to me. Their developers were even working on a Saturday to get this sorted and they were back in touch a little over an hour later with a resolution and they said they had fixed my issue in the next firmware release (Pretty awesome!). Super quick turnaround there and I was very impressed by the support.
Even at the non-discounted price-point of USD$60, I think this is a really "easy sell" for a first wallet for crypto users, especially if they're not going out and buying tens of thousands of dollars worth of crypto. If you're buying, say $200 worth of Crypto, then spending that same amount on a competing wallet is a bit silly. However, spending USD$40 on the SafePal S1 is really a no-brainer in my opinion.
It's a great wallet, does a decent amount of "hand-holding" to get you through and started and using it, even without me having read any "user guide" or similar. A few minor things that could potentially be improved upon, but it's pretty decent overall!
So a big thank you to the SafePal team for supporting DigiByte and adding $DGB to your platform, it's really great to see. Another great place for the DigiByte community to store / send / receive their DigiByte!
