My specialty for trading is stocks, so typically cryptocurrency movements don't interest me too much. But when I read this article: "The Bit Short: Inside Crypto’s Doomsday Machine," I was blown away by what I read, and extremely frightened for what it could mean for the future.

70% of Bitcoin's buying volume comes from Tether (USDT) which claims to be pegged 1:1 to the USD, but research indicates this may be far from the truth. If there are too many people investing via up to 100x leverage on foreign exchanges, this has the potential to create an absolutely devastating crash. The lawsuit is underway, and we should know more in the somewhat near future. What impact the final judgment will have, only time will tell.
