Bitcoin vs Gold & Silver – Episode 16 – $130,000 Bitcoin?

Today is Sunday 4th April 2021 and we are publishing the 16th episode in our Bitcoin vs Gold & Silver series. In today’s episode we look at an article published by Forbes quoting JP Morgan’s view that as money comes out of the gold space it could very well move into the bitcoin space causing its value to more than double even compared with current prices.

Well at the time of writing bitcoin’s price is standing at $57,931 just $3,625 or so off its all-time high of $61,556 or 5.9&

Market capitalisation is currently $1.06 Trillion.

That gold is currently trading at $1730 some $330 off its all time high or 16% and silver is trading at $24.99 or nearly $24 off its all time high or 20% lower.

Undoubtedly Bitcoin has shown itself so far to have been the better investment or speculation bearing in mind that just even 1 year ago its price was just $6,740

We have already covered the fact that of course bitcoin has arguably no intrinsic value as do precious metals but nevertheless it has captured the imagination, initially of the young, and now even the more seasoned investor and various hedge and investment funds.

On Friday an article published by Forbes.com stated the following:

Bitcoin has won its fair share of Wall Street supporters this year amid a bull run that's seen it soar around 500%.

The bitcoin price hit highs of just over $60,000 per bitcoin last month before falling back slightly but has since made up lost ground. Meanwhile, the broader cryptocurrency market has surged to almost $2 trillion—boosted by decentralized finance (DeFi) tokens.

Analysts at Wall Street banking giant and former bitcoin skeptic JPMorgan have said bitcoin could climb as high as $130,000 in the long-term if it continues to see its volatility converge with that of gold's.

"As PayPal's recent announcement demonstrates, the inherent volatility of digital tokens is no barrier to their increasing use in payments. This rally could possibly herald bitcoin's first meaningful encroachments into the legacy financial system and credit card industry."
