Over the course of history, money was almost always in the hands of centralised authorities. And that ended up really badly for the population using it. Whether it was the population on the island of Yap, old Roman empire, Weimar Republic or Venezuela.

But there is a new kid in town - Bitcoin. What does it change? It is a discovery of true digital scarcity and that is a big thing.
